Sketch of the current implementation of the kinetic algorithm in TRIPOLI-4, taken from Ref. [3]. In the kinetic simulation (green) neutrons and precursors are sampled during the last iteration of the power iteration (white) and their subsequent time evolution is followed on a time grid, during which forced precursor decay and population control algorithms are applied.
