EPJ N receives the new Journal Citation Indicator and is included in the CORE and INIS databases

We are pleased to announce that EPJ N (EPJ Nuclear Sciences & Technologies) has received the new Journal Citation Indicator as part of this year’s Journal Citation Reports (JCR)™ from Clarivate. It has also been included in two more databases: CORE and the International Nuclear Information System (INIS) from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). These developments underline the progress EPJ N is making as a trusted source of high quality research and add to its growing stature within the field of nuclear energy.

The Journal Citation Indicator is a new metric in 2021 which measures the citation impact of a journal’s recent publications over three years. According to Clarivate, “the Journal Citation Indicator provides a single journal-level metric that can be easily interpreted and compared across disciplines.”

With a Journal Citation Indicator of 0.51, EPJ N appears in the JCR™ for the first time. It is already listed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of the Web of Science Core Collection™. Now that the Journal Citation Indicator has been applied, we hope and expect that a Journal Impact Factor (JIF)™ and 5 Year Impact Factor will follow shortly enabling a move from the ESCI to the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE).

CORE is the world’s largest collection of open access research papers with more than 207 million papers. “CORE’s mission is to aggregate all open access research worldwide and deliver unrestricted access for all.” It is a joint project of The Open University and Jisc.

INIS, “hosts one of the world's largest collections of published information on the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology.” INIS was established in 1970 in line with the IAEA's mandate "to foster the exchange of scientific and technical information on peaceful uses of atomic energy".

If you are interested in submitting to EPJ N, please read the instructions for authors. You can also sign up for free email-alerts to stay up to date with new articles.

EPJ N is an open access journal for the communication of original research, ideas and developments in all areas of the peaceful use of nuclear energy, as well as on applications of nuclear particles and radiation. This journal is edited in partnership with the SFEN (French Nuclear Energy Society) and the ENS (European Nuclear Society).
