Distance-to-interaction spectra for different acquisitions with calibration materials. On the first plot showing the graphite spectrum, the blue dashed area corresponds to the fraction of the scattered neutron background overlapping with the carbon signal in the red dashed area. The subtraction result is shown in Figure 4 for C, N, and O. The random background (grey area) has also been subtracted.
